Monitor in Acer Travelmate 2312LM is 15" size, better than 13" screen in BenQ S53W.G01.
Graphic professionals might find BenQ S53W.G01 model with its 1280x768 maximum screen resulution more preferable.
More RAM on BenQ S53W.G01 means less swapping on hard drive. S53W.G01 had 0.5GB. Acer Travelmate 2312LM had only 0.25GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
Travelmate 2312LM allows maximum 2GB RAM - higher than S53W.G01 (-1GB RAM).
More storage for multimedia were available at BenQ S53W.G01 (greater space on hard disk).
We dislike the fact that bluetooth isn't available on these laptop models.
Only BenQ S53W.G01 is able to communicate with some other small devices using infrared connection.

Operating system on Travelmate 2312LM is none and on S53W.G01 is XP Home.
