Acer Travelmate 2312LM came to us with Celeron M360 1.4GHz main processor inside and Toshiba Satellite M60-182 came to us with Pentium M760 2.0GHz processor .
Screen size at Toshiba Satellite M60-182 is quite larger with its 17" than Acer Travelmate 2312LM with its 15".
More RAM means less swapping when you run many programs at once and therefore Toshiba Satellite M60-182 with 0.5GB RAM is better choise than Acer Travelmate 2312LM with 0.25GB.
Video card inside Travelmate 2312LM is i852GM DVMT and other laptop has ATI X700 inside.
We like that graphic card on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 have own video memory (128MB) and therefore its faster since it doesn't use main memory and mainboard controller is less loaded.
More hard disk space were at Toshiba Satellite M60-182 (60GB is contast to 40GB).
If you need bluetooth don't forget that it is available only at Toshiba Satellite M60-182 laptop.
Lack of infrared in any case.
No firewire on Acer Travelmate 2312LM unable them to connect to some camcorders.
PCMCIA isn't built in Toshiba Satellite M60-182.
Only model Satellite M60-182 have cardreader inside.
It is bad that these notebooks cannot be connected to some new monitors since they don't have DVI.
Wireless is very useful nowadays especially in hotels and Acer Travelmate 2312LM has big disadvantage in lack of wireless.
Travelmate 2312LM drives none and Satellite M60-182 drives XP Home operating system.
