More RAM on Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z means less swapping on hard drive. Vaio VGN-FE31Z had 2GB. Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G had only 1GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
On both laptops in use is DDR2 memory.
Graphic is built around Nvidia Geforce 6800 on Amilo M3438G, but graphic on other laptop is Nvidia Go 7600.
Graphic card is better on Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G with embedded 256MB of memory.
More storage for multimedia were available at Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z (more conforable space on hard disk).
If you have some bluetooth devices if you buy Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G you will need external bluetooth device which is not excellent idea.
