We think that Z 9266 VA has better screen with its 15.4" inch size than MX3414 with its 14.1" large screen.
Quantity of RAM memory was 1GB on both Gateway MX3414 and Asus Z 9266 VA.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Video card inside MX3414 is Nvidia Go 6100 and other laptop has ATI Mobility Radeon X700 inside.
Graphic card is better on Asus Z 9266 VA with embedded 128MB of memory.
Gateway MX3414 had more capacity of hard disk (100GB, comparing to 80GB).
Asus Z 9266 VA should load programs for hard disk faster with its 5400rpm fast drive.
Don't forget that you might not be able easily to upload/download pictures on Gateway MX3414 from camera and mobile phone during the lack of bluetooth connection.
Gateway MX3414 have lack of infrared communication device.
No firewire unable some camcorders and storage device to attach them to laptops.
PCMCIA useful for some TV card for laptops is built in both laptops.
Fast network (1Gbit/s) cannot be used on its full speed on both notebooks.
Cardreader is inside only Gateway MX3414.
These laptops don't have DVI output to allow you to see screen on bigger modern monitors.
Operating system on MX3414 is XP Media Center and on Z 9266 VA is XP Home.
Only Gateway MX3414 has some additional software : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
