Gateway MX6446 came to us with Turion64 2.0GHz main central processor inside and BenQ S53W.G01 came to us with Pentium M750 1.86GHz processor .
MX6446 monitor screen with its 15.4 inch we like more than 13 inch screen at S53W.G01.
More RAM on Gateway MX6446 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6446 had 1GB. BenQ S53W.G01 had only 0.5GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
With maximum 2GB of RAM it can support Gateway MX6446 can feel a bit more proud than BenQ S53W.G01.
Both Gateway MX6446 and BenQ S53W.G01 on our test use same type of RAM memory - DDR2.
Weight of BenQ S53W.G01 is only 2.15kg, but Gateway MX6446 is heavier with its 2.86kg.
More storage for multimedia (mpeg, avi) were available at Gateway MX6446 (more space on hard disk).
If you have some bluetooth devices if you buy Gateway MX6446 you will need external bluetooth dongle which is not excellent idea.
Only BenQ S53W.G01 is able to communicate with some other small devices using infrared connection.
There are no PCMCIA on BenQ S53W.G01.
Cardreader in both laptops can read 4 different card types.
They don't have DVI for new TFT monitors.
The lack of webcamera in both models makes them bad in video conferencing.
MX6446 drives XP Media Center and S53W.G01 drives XP Home operating system.
Only Gateway MX6446 has special software pack : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
