Central processor unit on our Gateway MX6931 we've tested was Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66Ghz, and on BenQ R55.G24 was Core Duo T2300 1.6GHz.
Both models have the same 15.4" screen size.
More RAM on Gateway MX6931 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6931 had 2GB. BenQ R55.G24 had only 1GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
Gateway MX6931 supports more maximum amount of RAM (2) than BenQ R55.G24 (-1GB).
We will say that BenQ R55.G24 is less in weight with its 2.8kg, comparing to 2.86kg which other laptop has.
Graphic card inside MX6931 is Intel 950 and other laptop uses Nvidia Go 7400.
Gamers might prefer BenQ R55.G24 since it seems it has better graphic card with 128MB of its memory.
More hard disk space were at Gateway MX6931 (160GB is contast to 80GB).
Mobile phones and cameras tends to use bluetooth for its multimedia data and they can easily connect only with BenQ R55.G24 using built in bluetooth connection.
Infrared is missing on Gateway MX6931.
Firewire is embedded in both models allows them to communicate with other IEEE 1394 devices like some camcorders.
Both models have PCMCIA built-in needed by some TV cards .
There are internal modem in these models.
Cardreader is inside both laptops.
None has DVI output so you cannot connect them to some new LCD monitors.
Gateway MX6931 only has TV input.
The number of USB ports is 4 on both.
Internet telephony is better with web camera but these laptops hasn't one .
Operating system on Gateway MX6931 is XP Media Center and on BenQ R55.G24 is XP Home.
There are additional software only on Gateway MX6931 and it is Works 8.5, Money 2006.
