In Gateway MP8708 we've found Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz cpu and in LG S1-MDGBG we have a pleasure to find Core Duo T2500 2.0GHz processor.
We think 17 inch screen at MP8708 is better than 15.4 inch screen wide at S1-MDGBG.
More RAM on Gateway MP8708 means less swapping on hard drive. MP8708 had 2GB. LG S1-MDGBG had only 1GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
MP8708 allows maximum 2GB RAM - higher than S1-MDGBG (-1GB RAM).
On both laptops in use is DDR2 memory.
S1-MDGBG is quite lighter with 2.8kg weight, than MP8708 with 3.45kg.
Video card in use in Gateway MP8708 is Intel 950 and in LG S1-MDGBG is ATI Radeon X1600.
Gamers might prefer LG S1-MDGBG since it seems it has better graphic card with 256MB of its memory.
More hard drive space were at Gateway MP8708 (160GB is contast to 100GB).
