Processor on our Gateway MX6448 we've tested was Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz, and on LG S1-MDGBG was Core Duo T2500 2.0GHz.
Both models have the same 15.4" screen size.
In both notebooks we've found 1GB of RAM.
Gateway MX6448 supports more maximum amount of RAM (2) than LG S1-MDGBG (-1GB).
S1-MDGBG weigths less with its 2.8kg than the another .
Video card in use in Gateway MX6448 is ATI XPRESS 1150 and in LG S1-MDGBG is ATI Radeon X1600.
LG S1-MDGBG seems to be better for gamers with 256MB of dedicated video memory.
More storage for multimedia (mpeg, avi) were available at Gateway MX6448 (greater space on hard drive).
Bluetooth dongle available only at LG S1-MDGBG is usefull if one have bluetooth devices like some cameras, mobile phones, etc.
There are firewire built-in only on Gateway MX6448.
For some rare location without proper Internet connection, you might need modem which is available in both laptops in this rating.
These laptops have cardreaders inside them.
It is bad that these notebooks cannot be connected to some new monitors since they don't have DVI.
Only S1-MDGBG has TV output.
Both notebooks are equipped with stardard 54Mbit/s wireless.
The lack of webcamera in both models makes them bad in video conferencing.
MX6448 drives XP Media Center and S1-MDGBG drives XP Pro operating system.
Only Gateway MX6448 has some additional software : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
