Laptop Gateway MX3414 uses Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz CPU, and notebook Gateway MX3414 uses Core Duo T2300 1.6GHz processor.
We've found 14.1" monitor size on MX3414 quite better than 12.1" at 262B.
More RAM means less swapping when you run many programs at once and therefore Gateway MX3414 with 1GB RAM is better choise than Microstar 262B with 0.5GB.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Graphic is built around Nvidia Go 6100 on MX3414, but graphic on other laptop is Intel 945GM.
Gateway MX3414 had more hard disk space (100 GB) - definetly something which users who hold movies on it will like.
If you have some bluetooth devices if you buy Gateway MX3414 you will need external bluetooth dongle which is not excellent idea.
Gateway MX3414 have lack of infrared communication device.
There are firewire built-in only on Microstar 262B.
There are no PCMCIA on Microstar 262B.
Cardreaders in both notebooks are able to read 4 card types.
Disadvantage of both is lack of DVI output for connection to some modern TFT monitors.
Both notebooks have 3 USB ports each.
Internet telephony is better with web camera but these notebooks hasn't one .
Operating system on Gateway MX3414 is XP Media Center and on Microstar 262B is XP Home.
Only Gateway MX3414 has some additional software : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
