We prefere more 15.4" monitor on Gateway MX6931 than 12.1" monitor on Microstar 262B.
More RAM on Gateway MX6931 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6931 had 2GB. Microstar 262B had only 0.5GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.

There are no infrared embedded in Gateway MX6931.
There are no PCMCIA on Microstar 262B.
Cardreaders in both laptops are able to read 4 card types.
They don't have DVI for new monitors.
Gateway MX6931 only has TV input.

The lack of webcamera in both models makes them bad in video conferencing.
