In Gateway MX6931 we've found Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66Ghz cpu and in Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 we have a pleasure to find Pentium M778 Ultra Low Voltage processor.
Model Gateway MX6931 uses Intel 945GM chipset and model Gateway MX6931 uses Intel 915GMS.
We prefere more 15.4" monitor on Gateway MX6931 than 13.3" monitor on Panasonic Toughbook CF-29.
Gateway MX6931 came with more RAM memory - 2GB comparing to 0.5GB on Panasonic Toughbook CF-29.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Both models doesn't have any free RAM slot.
Video card inside MX6931 is Intel 950 and other laptop has Intel 915GMS inside.
These notebooks use part of main RAM memory for their graphic cards.
Gateway MX6931 had more storage for multimedia files (like mp3, avi) on hard disk.
Lack of bluetooth on Gateway MX6931 might mean that you need to buy externall bluetooth device for manipulating pictures from handy or camera.
Infrared isn't built in Gateway MX6931, which is slightly disadvantage.
No firewire connection on model Panasonic Toughbook CF-29.
There are no PCMCIA on Panasonic Toughbook CF-29.
Only Gateway MX6931 have cardreader inside.
Floppy drive is embedded in Panasonic Toughbook CF-29, but we see this as disadvantage since floppy disks are unreliable and obsolete.
They don't have DVI for new monitors.
Advantage of Gateway MX6931 is existance of TV input.
Laptops are able to use standard 54Mbit/s wireless .
These laptops aren't really suitable for Internet telephony since they haven't web camera.
Operating system on MX6931 is XP Media Center and on Toughbook CF-29 is XP Pro.
Only Gateway MX6931 has special software pack : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
Special adventages of these laptops are : protection on vibrATIon, water, high temperatures and dust, touchpad and touchscreen for Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 and for Gateway MX6931.
