Gateway MX6931 laptop is built using Intel 945GM chipset, and its competitor in this comparison, Panasonic Toughbook CF-74, is built using Intel 915GM.
We think that MX6931 has better screen with its 15.4" inch size than Toughbook CF-74 with its 13.3" large screen.
More RAM on Gateway MX6931 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6931 had 2GB. Panasonic Toughbook CF-74 had only 0.5GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.

Graphic is built around Intel 950 on MX6931, but graphic on other is Intel 915GM.
Laptops aren't much suitable for gamers since they don't have dedicated memory on video cards.

If you sometimes travel to destination without broadband connection, you don't have to worry since laptops have internal modems.
