The amount of RAM memory was 1GB on both laptops.
Graphic card inside MX3414 is Nvidia Go 6100 and other laptop uses Nvidia Go 6600.
Graphic card is better on Samsung M700-1860 with embedded 128MB of memory.
More hard disk space were at Gateway MX3414 (100GB is contast to 80GB).
Fast hard disk (5400 rpm) on Samsung M700-1860 beats another model.
Disadvantage of Gateway MX3414 is lack of bluetooth connection which you need for some mobile phones and cameras.
If you have infrared enabled devices if you buy Gateway MX3414 you won't be enabled to communicate with them.
Only Samsung M700-1860 have firewire.
If you sometimes travel to destination without broadband internet connection, you don't have to worry since laptops have internal modems.
Fast internet speed (1Gbit/s) is supportable only by Samsung M700-1860.

It is bad that these laptops cannot be connected to some new monitors since they don't have DVI.
