Gateway MX6448 went with Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz CPU built in, and Samsung M700-1860 with Pentium M750 1.86GHz.
We prefere more 19" monitor on Samsung M700-1860 than 15.4" monitor on Gateway MX6448.
We've got both laptops with 1GB of RAM memory.
Video card in use in Gateway MX6448 is ATI XPRESS 1150 and in Samsung M700-1860 is Nvidia Go 6600.
Gamers might prefer Samsung M700-1860 since it seems it has better graphic card with 128MB of its memory.
More hard disk space were at Gateway MX6448 (120GB is contast to 80GB).
Samsung M700-1860 has faster hard disk (with 5400rpm).
There are no bluetooth devices on Gateway MX6448 and that might be disadvantage.
Infrared connection has only Samsung M700-1860.
These models have firewire (IEEE 1394) communication device embedded.
These laptops have PCMCIA.
Both laptops have built-in modem which you need somewhere where broadband internet isn't available.
Note that only Samsung M700-1860 is able to take advantage of fast internet (1Gbit/s).
Both laptops have cardreader. At Gateway MX6448 it reads 4 different card types and cardreader in Samsung M700-1860 supports 1 different card types.
These laptops don't have DVI output to allow you to see screen on bigger modern monitors.
Internet telephony is better with web camera but any of these laptops hasn't one .
Operating system on Gateway MX6448 is XP Media Center and on Samsung M700-1860 is XP Home.
Additional software is MGI Video Wave, Nero Norton Antivirus (90Tage) Photo Suite,Power DVD 3.0 on Samsung M700-1860 and Works 8.5, Money 2006 on Gateway MX6448.
