The same 15.4" screen size is on both Gateway MP6954 and Sony Vaio VGN-FE28B.
Gateway MP6954 model we've tested had more RAM (2GB) than Sony Vaio VGN-FE28B (1GB).
Both Gateway MP6954 and Sony Vaio VGN-FE28B notebooks have same amount of maximum supportable RAM memory - 2GB.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Both laptops have weight 2.95kg.
Graphic card inside MP6954 is Intel 950 and other laptop uses Nvidia Go 7400.
Gateway MP6954 had more storage for multimedia files (like mp3, avi) on its hard disk.
Rotating speed of hard drives are the same - 5400 rpm.
If you have some bluetooth devices if you buy Gateway MP6954 you will need external bluetooth dongle which is not excellent idea.
These laptops have disadvantage of communication with some infrared devices like some models of mobile phones.

It is bad that these notebooks cannot be connected to some new monitors since they don't have DVI.

These laptops aren't really good for video conferencing because they haven't web camera built-in.
Both of these came with XP Media Center operating system.
Sony Vaio VGN-FE28B came with Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0 as additional software, and Gateway MP6954 came with Works 8.5, Money 2006.
