Chipset used in Gateway MX6912 is Intel 945GM and Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z uses Intel 945PM Express.
The same 15.4" screen size is on both Gateway MX6912 and Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z.
More RAM memory we've got in Sony Vaio VGN-FE31Z - 2GB. Gateway MX6912 came with 1GB.
