Central processor unit on our Gateway MP6954 we've tested was Core Duo T2050 1.6GHz, and on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 was Pentium M760 2.0GHz.
Screen size at Toshiba Satellite M60-182 is quite larger with its 17" than Gateway MP6954 with its 15.4".
To runs many programs at once we've found Gateway MP6954 better with its 2GB of RAM than Toshiba Satellite M60-182 with 0.5GB. More memory means less swapping.
Graphic is built around Intel 950 on MP6954, but graphic on other is built using ATI X700.
We like that video card on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 have its own video memory (128MB) and therefore its faster since it doesn't use main memory and mainboard controller is less loaded.
More hard drive space were available at Gateway MP6954 (120GB is contast to 60GB).
Bluetooth dongle available only at Toshiba Satellite M60-182 is usefull if one have other bluetooth devices like some cameras, mobile phones, etc.
Buying any, you might experience lack of infrared device.

Only Gateway MP6954 has PCMCIA.
