Processor on our Gateway MX3414 we've tested was Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz, and on Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 was Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66Ghz.
Monitor in Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 is 15.4" size, better than 14.1" screen in Gateway MX3414.
The amount of RAM memory was 1GB on both laptops.
With maximum 4GB of RAM it can support Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 can feel a bit more proud than Gateway MX3414.
Gateway MX3414 is less heavier with its 2.4kg, comparing to 2.72kg.
Graphic is built around Nvidia Go 6100 on MX3414, but graphic on other laptop is built using Intel 950.
Up to 128MB of memory is substracted from mainboard for video card .
More storage for multimedia were available at Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 (more space on hard disk).
Both laptops have same rotating speed (4200rpm) of their hard disks.
Bluetooth dongle available only at Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 is usefull if one have bluetooth devices like cameras, mobile phones, etc.
Gateway MX3414 have lack of infrared communication device.
Only Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 have firewire needed for some camcorders.
These laptops have PCMCIA.
Modem is built in both laptops.
None of notebooks suports 1Gbit/s network speed.
Only Gateway MX3414 have cardreader inside.
Disadvantage of both is lack of DVI output for connection to some modern monitors.
Quite disadvantage of both models is lack of web camera which is needed for Internet telephony.
Both came with XP Media Center .
Additional software is Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Works 8.5 on Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 and Works 8.5, Money 2006 on Gateway MX3414.
