Processor on our Gateway MX3414 we've tested was Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz, and on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 was Pentium M760 2.0GHz.
We like more Toshiba Satellite M60-182 17" inch screen than Gateway MX3414's 14.1" size.
Gateway MX3414 model we've tested had more RAM (1GB) than Toshiba Satellite M60-182 (0.5GB).
Both Gateway MX3414 and Toshiba Satellite M60-182 on our test had same amount of maximum RAM memory they can support - 2GB.
Graphic card inside MX3414 is Nvidia Go 6100 and other laptop uses ATI X700.
Gamers might prefer Toshiba Satellite M60-182 since it seems it has quite better graphic card with 128MB of its memory.
Gateway MX3414 had more storage for files on its hard disk.
Disadvantage of Gateway MX3414 is lack of bluetooth which you might need for some mobile devices and cameras.
Infrared isn't built in Gateway MX3414, which is slightly disadvantage.
Firewire is available only on Toshiba Satellite M60-182.
PCMCIA on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 unable them to connect to some TV cards for laptops.
Cardreader in Toshiba Satellite M60-182 can read 5 different card types and in Gateway MX3414 can read 4 different card types.
These notebooks don't have DVI output to allow you to see screen on some bigger modern monitors.
These laptops aren't really good for Internet telephony since they haven't web camera.
MX3414 drives XP Media Center and Satellite M60-182 drives XP Home operating system.
