Gateway MX6931 went with Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66Ghz CPU built in, and Toshiba Satellite M60-182 with Pentium M760 2.0GHz.
We prefere more 17" monitor on Toshiba Satellite M60-182 than 15.4" monitor on Gateway MX6931.
More RAM means less swapping when you run many programs at once and therefore Gateway MX6931 with 2GB RAM is better choise than Toshiba Satellite M60-182 with 0.5GB.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Graphic card inside MX6931 is Intel 950 and other laptop uses ATI X700.
Toshiba Satellite M60-182 seems to be better for gamers with 128MB of dedicated video memory.
More storage for multimedia were available at Gateway MX6931 (more space on hard drive).
For some devices like phones and cameras, you might need bluetooth which is internaly built only in Toshiba Satellite M60-182.
If you have infrared enabled devices if you buy Gateway MX6931 you won't be enabled to communicate with them.
There are no PCMCIA on Toshiba Satellite M60-182.
Both notebooks have cardreader. At Toshiba Satellite M60-182 it reads 5 different card types and cardreader in Gateway MX6931 supports 4 different card types.
None has DVI output so you cannot connect them to some new LCD monitors.
Advantage of Gateway MX6931 is TV input.
Laptops are able to use standard 54Mbit/s wireless connection.
These laptops aren't very good for Internet telephony because they haven't web camera.
