Gateway MP8708 vs Gateway MX6453 laptop rating

Central processor unit on our Gateway MP8708 we've tested was Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz, and on Gateway MX6453 was Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz. We prefere 17 inch wide screen size at model MP8708 than 15.4 built at model MX6453. Quantity of RAM memory was 2GB on both Gateway MP8708 and Gateway MX6453. There are no empty RAM slots on both models.

For people who travells often, Gateway MX6453 might be better choise because of 2.86kg in weight, comparing to 3.45kg weight with Gateway MP8708. Video card inside MP8708 is Intel 950 and other laptop has ATI XPRESS 1150 inside. Video cards on both laptops uses 128MB of shared RAM from mainboard. Hard disk on both had 160GB of maximum capacity. Fast hard disk (5400 rpm) on Gateway MP8708 beats another model.

Both models have firewire built-in needed by some video devices. Both laptops have built-in modem which you need somewhere where broadband internet isn't available. Cardreaders in both notebooks are able to read 4 card types. They don't have DVI for new TFT monitors. The number of USB ports is 4 on both. Quite disadvantage of both models is lack of web camera which needs Internet telephony.

XP Media Center is operating system on both. Both laptops came with the following software : Works 8.5, Money 2006
