We think 15.4 inch screen at MX6453 is better than 14.1 inch screen wide at MX3414.
More RAM on Gateway MX6453 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6453 had 2GB. Gateway MX3414 had only 1GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
Both Gateway MX6453 and Gateway MX3414 on our test had same amount of maximum RAM memory they can support - 2GB.
On both laptops in use is DDR2 memory.
Gateway MX3414 has less weight (2.4kg), comparing to 2.86kg on another laptop here.
Graphic card in use in Gateway MX6453 is ATI XPRESS 1150 and in notebook Gateway MX3414 is Nvidia Go 6100.
Video cards on both notebooks uses 128MB of shared RAM from mainboard.
Gateway MX6453 had more capacity of hard disk (160GB, comparing to 100GB).
There are firewire built-in only on Gateway MX6453.
Both notebooks have cardreader.
Disadvantage of both is lack of DVI output for connection to some modern monitors.

There are no web camera in notebooks which is bad for video conferencing .
