In Gateway MX6453 we've found Turion X2 Dual 1.6GHz cpu and in Gateway MX6455 we have a pleasure to find Turion64 2.0GHz CPU.
On both models screen size is 15.4".
More RAM on Gateway MX6453 means less swapping on hard drive. MX6453 had 2GB. Gateway MX6455 had only 1GB of RAM which might not suit users who wants to run many programs at once.
The RAM memory in use on both laptops is DDR2.
Gateway MX6453 has less weight (2.86kg), comparing to 2.9kg on another .
Graphic is built around ATI XPRESS 1150 on MX6453, but graphic on other is ATI X300.
Gateway MX6455 uses up to 64MB of main RAM memory for graphic card - other laptop up to 128MB.
More storage for multimedia (mpeg, avi) were available at Gateway MX6453 (more conforable space on hard drive).
We do not have preference on their hard disk speed - 4200 rpm have both.
For some rare location without proper Internet connection, you might need modem which is available in both laptops in this rating.
Cardreaders in both notebooks are able to read 4 card types.
None has DVI output so you cannot connect them to some new LCD monitors.
The number of USB ports is 4 on both.
Operating system on both is XP Media Center.
