CPU in Gateway MX6912 is Core Duo T2300E 1.66GHz and in Gateway MP6954 is Core Duo T2050 1.6GHz.
The same 15.4" screen size is on both Gateway MX6912 and Gateway MP6954.
Gateway MP6954 came with more RAM memory - 2GB comparing to 1GB on Gateway MX6912.
We must say that Gateway MX6912 is less in weight with its 2.86kg, comparing to 2.95kg which other laptop has.
On both notebooks in use is Intel 950 graphic card.
Video cards uses memory from mainboard, up to 128MB.
Gateway MP6954 had more hard drive space (120 GB) - definetly something which users who have habbit hold movies on it will like.
If you have infrared enabled devices if you buy Gateway MX6912 you won't be able to communicate with them.
Both models have firewire built-in needed by some video devices.
They do not supports fast internet connection (1Gbit/s).
Cardreaders in both notebooks are able to read 4 card types.
They don't have DVI for new monitors.
Gateway MP6954 only has TV input.
