HP dv8301nr went with Turion64 1.8GHz CPU built in, and Acer TravelMate 2414NWLMi with Celeron M389 1.6GHz.
We've found 17" monitor size on dv8301nr quite better than 15.4" at TravelMate 2414NWLMi.
We got more memory (0.5GB) in HP dv8301nr than in Acer TravelMate 2414NWLMi (0.25GB).
Travellers should note that Acer TravelMate 2414NWLMi is only 2.7kg in weight, but HP dv8301nr is much heavier with 3.63kg.
Graphic card inside dv8301nr is ATI Mobility 200M and other laptop uses Intel 910GML.
Graphic card is better on HP dv8301nr with embedded 128MB of memory.
HP dv8301nr had more hard drive space (80 GB) - definetly something which users who have habbit hold movies on it will like.
Infrared isn't built in HP dv8301nr, which is slightly disadvantage.
Firewire (IEEE 1394) isn't built in Acer TravelMate 2414NWLMi.
PCMCIA is available only on HP dv8301nr and it is needed by some TV cards and external modems.
