Processor on our HP Compaq nx8220 we've tested was Pentium M740 1.73GHz, and on Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 was Pentium M778 Ultra Low Voltage.
We think that nx8220 has better screen with its 15.4" inch size than Toughbook CF-29 with its 13.3" large screen.
Quantity of RAM memory was 0.5GB on both HP Compaq nx8220 and Panasonic Toughbook CF-29.
Number of free RAM slots is higher on nx8220 - 1.
Graphic is built around ATI X600 on nx8220, but graphic on other is Intel 915GMS.
Graphic cards on HP Compaq nx8220 have its own memory (64MB) and therefore mainboard's memory controller works faster.
Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 laptop is more suitable with its 80GB hard drive for storing bunch of media files like music and movies.
Bluetooth connection, useful for sharing multimedia data with cameras , is available only on HP Compaq nx8220.
No built-in infrared device in any laptops.
No built-in firewire so you cannot attach some camcorder on these laptops.
HP Compaq nx8220 doesn't have PCMCIA.
Small advantage of HP Compaq nx8220 is built-in cardreader which reads 1 card types.
We look to existence of floppy drive in Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 as a disadvantage since that technology is obsolete and unreliable and you shouldn't use it any longer.
These notebooks don't have DVI output to allow you to see its screen on bigger modern monitors.
These laptops aren't really good for video conferencing because they haven't web camera built-in.
Operating system is XP Pro.
Special adventages of these notebooks are : protection on vibrATIon, water, high temperatures and dust, touchpad and touchscreen for Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 and for HP Compaq nx8220.
