Laptop HP Compaq nx8220 has Pentium M740 1.73GHz CPU inside and notebook Toshiba Satellite L100-1200 has Core Duo T2300 1.6GHz CPU.
We like more HP Compaq nx8220 15.4" inch screen than Toshiba Satellite L100-1200's 15" size.
In both laptops we've found 0.5GB of RAM.
Graphic card in HP Compaq nx8220 is ATI X600 and in laptop Toshiba Satellite L100-1200 is Intel 945GM.
We like that video card on HP Compaq nx8220 have its own video memory (64MB) and therefore its faster since it doesn't use main memory and mainboard controller is less loaded.
60GB were on its hard drives.
There are no bluetooth on Toshiba Satellite L100-1200 and that might be disadvantage.
We regret the lack of infrared on these laptops.
Unfortunatly, any of these doesn't have firewire which might be disadvantage if you have some Apple devices.
PCMCIA isn't built-in in any laptop.
HP Compaq nx8220 has cardreader which reads 1 different card types.
None has DVI output so you cannot connect them to some new LCD monitors.
Toshiba Satellite L100-1200 only has TV output.
There are no web camera in notebooks which makes them bad for video conferencing and Internet telephony.
nx8220 drives XP Pro and Satellite L100-1200 drives XP Home operating system.
Only Toshiba Satellite L100-1200 has special software pack : Microsoft Office OneNote 2003.
