HP dv9008nr vs Gateway MP8708 notebook reviews

In HP dv9008nr we've found Turion64 X2 1.6GHz cpu and in Gateway MP8708 we have a pleasure to find Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz central processor unit. On both models screen size is 17". More RAM means less swapping when you run many programs at once and therefore Gateway MP8708 with 2GB RAM is better choise than HP dv9008nr with 1GB.

Gateway MP8708 has less weight (3.45kg), comparing to 3.54kg on another . Graphic card in HP dv9008nr is Nvidia Go 6150 and in notebook Gateway MP8708 is Intel 950. Video cards uses memory from mainboard, up to 128MB. More storage for multimedia were available at Gateway MP8708 (greater space on hard disk). Both laptops have same rotating speed (5400rpm) of their hard disks.

Both laptops have firewire which some camcorders use. Both laptops have PCMCIA which allows to connect some TV cards for laptops. If you sometimes travel to destination without broadband internet connection, you don't have to worry since both laptops have internal modems. These laptops have cardreaders inside them. It is bad that these notebooks cannot be connected to some new monitors since they don't have DVI. HP dv9008nr only has TV output. The number of USB ports is 4 on both. These laptops aren't very suitable for video conferencing because they haven't web camera inside.

Both came with XP Media Center . These laptops have the following software on them : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
