HP dv9008nr went with Turion64 X2 1.6GHz CPU built in, and HP Compaq nx8220 with Pentium M740 1.73GHz.
We've found 17" monitor size on dv9008nr quite better than 15.4" at nx8220.
More RAM memory we've got in HP dv9008nr - 1GB. HP Compaq nx8220 came with 0.5GB.
Graphic is built around Nvidia Go 6150 on dv9008nr, but graphic on other laptop is built using ATI X600.
Graphic card is better on HP Compaq nx8220 with embedded 64MB of memory.
More hard disk space were available at HP dv9008nr (100GB is contast to 60GB).
Don't forget that you might not be able easily to upload/download pictures on HP dv9008nr from camera during the lack of bluetooth connection.
Infrared is missing on HP dv9008nr.
No firewire connection on model HP Compaq nx8220.
Only HP dv9008nr has PCMCIA.
These laptops have cardreaders inside them.
None has DVI output so you cannot connect them to some new TFT monitors.
Advantage of HP dv9008nr is existance of TV output.
Both laptops are equipped with 54Mbit/s wireless.
These laptops aren't very good for Internet telephony because they haven't web camera.
Operating system on dv9008nr is XP Media Center and on nx8220 is XP Pro.
Only HP dv9008nr has special software pack : Works 8.5, Money 2006.
